Vacancy - Online Facilitators

Thank you for your interest in becoming a group facilitator with Dyspraxia DCD Ireland!

Background to Cairde Club and Cairde Connect

The Cairde Club for children aged 8-12 and the Cairde Connect Youth Group for ages 13-17 have been run by Dyspraxia DCD Ireland for a number of years. Initially the groups ran in person at the Carmichael Centre in Dublin but due to Covid they moved online. We found that many more young people were able to access the online groups and decided to keep them running that way. Both groups run during school term and tend to run for 5-7 weeks on a weekday evening. Days and times for groups are decided by facilitators.

For the past year both the Cairde Club and Cairde Connect Youth Group have been in hiatus due to our long-term facilitators moving on to new roles and our limited resources being directed towards other projects. We now wish to bring back the Cairde Club and Cairde Connect Youth Group stronger than ever with new facilitators and new and fresh ideas.

Our ideal facilitators will be:

  • Empathetic with an ability to connect with young people and respond to their needs with understanding.
  • Creative and flexible in particular being able to adapt activities and discussions to suit different personalities and energy levels.
  • Consistent and reliable, it's important to us and to our young people that you can commit to regular workshops over the school year.
  • Comfortable using digital platforms and managing group dynamics virtually.
  • Skilled communicators with engaging and age appropriate communication skills.
