Our Occupational Therapy Assessment Service

Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland conduct paediatric occupational therapy assessments with children and adolescents aged between 5 and 21 years. These assessments are carried out by our Occupational Therapist (OT) Stephen Hodnett. Stephen has worked with children in a number of settings both as an occupational therapist and as a teacher for over a decade.

The assessment process includes speaking to parents and teachers on the phone and then conducting an in-person physical assessment with the child. The in-person assessment will take place at our site in Limerick at present. When the assessment is completed, you will receive a detailed report with outcomes and recommendations within two weeks. The cost of assessment is €425.00 for members and €450.00 for non members and includes both the assessment and a comprehensive report. If you are experiencing financial
difficulties, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.

If you would like further information in relation to getting an assessment for your child or yourself (if you are aged 18 and under) please read our leaflet on Assessment and Diagnosis of Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia) in Children.

If you would like to book an assessment, please go to our Booking Calendar Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland - Occupational Therapy Services.

Upon booking, please complete the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Referral Form.

Please note, our service is only available to young people between the ages of 5 and 21 years. We are unable to carry out assessments for over 21’s at this time.
