Living With Dyspraxia

A poem written by an adult member with dyspraxia

No I'm not crazy with my poor written script
No I'm not lazy my pen hasn't slipped
I've got a thing! Or something! That's wrong with me?
But you can't tell, you would never know, nothing you can see
I will try and explain, describe, so you can understand
My writing, my spatial awareness, my psychological demand
D is for disability, all my very own
Y, why?, Why do i feel so alone
S, is for slow, or clumsy, or something derogatory
P is for peers, who don't understand what its like to be
R, or is it me? When I can't seem to achieve
Anything with ease, difficulty you can't believe
X the factor, that can't be quite defined
I wish, I wish, opinions weren't so blind
A is for acceptance, reducing expectation
But secretly, sucessful thoughts, in silent contemplation.
